LEADERSHIP THEORIES

Introduction
Leadership refers to the process by which a person influences a group of people to
attain a common goal. On the other hand, leadership theories apply to individual schools of
thought introduced to explain why and how specific individuals become leaders. In recent
years, the modification and refining of leadership theories are common. Therefore, making all
of the arguments to be seen as entirely relevant (Kibbe, 2019). The context in which the
approach is in use determines its relevance. Factors such as situation, regulations, new laws

characteristics and leadership qualities for any given position. Hence, implying that inherent
features are what make these people successful leaders. Sports personalities, higher
managers, individuals in sports, and some politicians often seem to have qualities that
distinguish them from others.

this theory, a particular character that is shared by leaders is identified. For instance, it links
great leaders to traits such as charisma, self-confidence, courage, and aggressiveness. These
traits are not always inborn (Paulienė,2012). Therefore, this doesn't mean everyone who
possesses such qualities is a guarantee to be a successful leader. These traits only increase the
chances of successful leadership and enable the leader to cope and interact with given people
and situations more effectively.

Nevertheless, is leaders lack these traits or qualities, it may be disastrous to them. For
example, individuals who are indifferent and indecisive do not make good leaders
(Stogdill,1974). A perfect scenario of this kin...
