Abstract
Art is a crucial aspect of design that entails the involvement of imagination and social skills in
the development of events. Artwork can be done through the traditional technique or modern.
Specifically, Photography is a form of fine art that involves the use of technology in capturing
images and creating vast analysis. This paper is mainly an analysis of Vivian Maier's artworks.
Maier was an outstanding photographer, and she had an incredible experience. A photograph is
usually a secret about a secret, and in the case of Maier, she was also a secret. From the 150s
until 2009, when she died, impoverished when she was eighty-three, Maier had taken over one
hundred and fifty thousand photographs. Interestingly, she had shown nobody those images.
Probably, this is suggesting that her desired themes were shooting her shadow. For years she
lived as a nanny, but her work was mainly capturing images. Also, as a Nanny, Maier developed
to be with people but not of the people, and as a result, most of her works were undeveloped
before she died. Mainly, her involvement created a change in her practices. Vivian has a personal
interest in photography for passion rather than for the audience. It is evident that Maier preferred
black-and-white images during this time, and her immense collection of unprinted and
undeveloped negatives continues to puzzle. However, she had abundant images that were
undeveloped since her piece of work was recognized after her death. Maier mainly focused on
color street photography, and her photographic work became a media sensation in late 2010.
