Description

Must be in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double spacing. Do not begin your papers with a header that contains your name, due date, etc. I don’t need any of that information as it will be given to me through Turnitin. Do not begin your paper by restating the assignment. Do not use extra spaces between paragraphs, create long numerical or bullet point lists, or use any other means of quickly exhausting writing space. Such tactics will result in rejected papers.

Your papers must begin on the first line and end on the last line with your own original work. You must submit all citations and references on a separate page, as such material does not count toward the minimum page requirement.

Please be at least 6 pages content, thank you. No cover page needed.

MODULE 4 Writing Assignment: This is an individual assignment. Everyone has the same assignment. You must do your own work and use Turnitin. I will not accept any paper that has any cut and paste material. See Syllabus. Like all papers you’ll submit, formatting is: 1” margins all around, double spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font. There is a 3 page minimum this time…but use as many pages as necessary to complete the assignment. I can tell when a student has done the work and when they have waited until the last minute to throw something together. Don’t be in that latter group. ASSIGNMENT: You have just opened your own restaurant. You have about 60 total employees. Your assignment is to draft a “discipline” policy for your company. First, I want you research what workplace “discipline” is all about. What should a good policy say? What should the motivation behind a policy be? Will your policy be “progressive” or will you address issues on a case-by-case basis? What steps should you take before you resort to formal discipline? There are many issues to consider. I want the first page of your policy to be your company’s “philosophy” on discipline…followed by at least two pages describing how you will implement discipline if it is needed. Three-page minimum…which will get you an average score. More is better, as usual.

Introduction
Workplace policy is essential to a restaurant business because employees deal with various
clients. An organization should maintain standards of conduct. The main aim is to guide staff on
how to conduct their affairs. This can assist in enhancing discipline within the organization. The
policy of my corporation needs all people to abide by the rules of an entity. The strategy is good
since it explains how to keep the management accountable for their actions. Besides, it
encourages employees to uphold integrity in the execution of their duties. The motivation behind
a company’s policy is to reduce indiscipline cases in a firm. Also, the plan is vital as it will guide
workers on how to solve disputes whenever they arise. The policy can set an excellent precedent
in the company that can be followed in the future. This will ensure that discipline becomes part
of a firm’s cultures.
Consequently, the policy is crucial as it will boost the image of the corporation. The strategy of
the organization will be progressive to enhance discipline in a company. As a result, it will be
easier to manage the 60 employees in a restaurant. The first step in progressive discipline is
verbal counseling. A manager can call the employee and inform him or her that improvement is
needed. Secondly, a written warning can be given to a worker if no changes are seen. The third
step is the performance improvement plan that can resolve serious matters that have been ignored
by the worker (Capuano, 2020). The last step in progressive discipline is the termination of
employment. This occurs when a staff member commits a mistake that warrants the
administrators to terminate the contract. An example is where an employee is caught stealing
from a restaurant. Nevertheless, all procedures must be followed before the services of a worker
are terminated. The purpose is to ensure the company is not exposed to legal battles by the

disgruntled staff. This essay will discuss the importance of a discipline plan in a corporation and
its impacts on people.
