The purpose of this article is to question the role played by the internet in the learning process.
Being the information age, everyone seems to be using the internet as the main source of
information as opposed to books. For that reason, there is the need to evaluate the effects of the
internet to the learning process and the mankind as a whole.
Information from various researches has it that reading from the internet provides a lot of
distractions. The various links provided within the text as well as the email messages are capable
of providing considerable interruption to the scholar. They make them affect their level of
concentration on the topic of study. As a matter of fact, the so caused lack of concentration
makes us unable to form neural connections to information; thus making the understanding of the
information very hard.
In addition to that, the ability to multitask offered by the internet makes people less creative and
