Help with function rule problems

I’m trying to study for my Algebra course and I need some help to understand this question.

2) You invest $500 to buy jackets and them sell them for $25.00 each.

a) Write a function rule to determine your profit.

b) Use your rule to find your profit after selling 50 jackets.

c) How many jackets do you need to sell to get back your investment?

Assume that you have   bought   X    jackets for   $500.  So cost price of each jacket is (500/X ).

Selling price of each jackets is  $25. 

a)  Profit =  25*X- (500)  (selling price * no of jackets - total cost)
b)  Profit for 50 jackets = 25*50- (500) = 750

C) total cost price = $500. And selling of each jacket is price is $25.  Hence to get back our investment, we need 500/25  jackets ; X=500/25 = 20 jackets .
