Workplace discipline, in most cases, refers to actions and regulations or conditions
imposed on organizational employees to prevent or deal with inappropriate behavior as exposed
by an employee or employees. It defines organizational behavior or actions as related to the gross
conduct of employees and what every section entail depending on the type of offense exposed by
multiple employees. Despite the concept of workplace discipline, the idea involves numerous
categories of discipline employed by the majority of organizations. Some of the organizational
types of workplace discipline fall under the following three categories. It includes preventive,
corrective, and progressive discipline; each of the mention discipline categories handles
employees' cases differently depending on instituted policies. The preventive workplace policy
works by ensuring that the majority of employees, if not all, work within the expected course of
conduct, which defines its general goal of preventive measures. A precautionary approach
prevents employees' behavior that may result in a policy violation. The essay broadly analyses
the concept of workplace policy by discussing what good policy should say, should be
motivations behind discussed strategies, and type of system, either progressive or corrective,
among other crucial sections.
