It is crucial to acknowledge that the discussion about nursing, especially about its future
by the IOM (Institute of Medicine) that took place in 2008 led to the coalition of the Robert
Wood Foundation and the IOM. The two parties launched a two-year initiative which was aimed
at appraising changes in nursing practice. Robert Wood Foundation committee was charged with
the responsibility of producing a report which outlines the recommendations which proposed the
actions that would transform the nursing profession at all levels. It is crucial to acknowledge that
