You are required to write one paper for this course on a topic that is relevant to the course material. Below are possible essay prompts that you may use to craft your essay. Although the primary text that we are using for this course contains information that will assist you in responding to the essay prompts, your work will require a minimum amount of research. Use library and internet resources to gain additional, and sometimes alternate, perspectives on the following material.

1) Slave Revolts: Discuss one or two of the revolts that are being covered in class this semester. Compare and contrast their efforts toward gaining freedom. What methods seemed to be most effective? Which ones were least effective? Please back up your opinion with evidence from the text or module to support your assertions. Revolts to consider are listed below:

Introduction
Most African American people are generations that arose from the Africans who were
used as slaves. They were obtained or raided from wars mostly from the west and central Africa
and, to some extent, eastern and southeastern Africa. Although these African groups were from
different ethnicities, they practiced a common way of life that was different from the Europeans.
After being enslaved in America, they had the standards and beliefs from Europe, which were
forced upon them, making them away with their tribal differences. Between 1861 and 1865, a
Civil War was experienced across the nation and marked a violent conclusion of many years of
diversification.
Brief Description of the North and the South
In the northern part, the climate and the soil favored small farmers than larger plantations.
