INTRODUCTION
Workforce planning can be defined as systematic way of identifying and analyzing what a given
organization will need in terms of type, size, experience, skills and workforce quality to achieve
formulated objectives and goals. It usually generates business intelligence so as the
organization becomes aware of the current as well as the future impact of both internal and
external environment on the organization. Effective workforce planning serve many purposes in
any given institution. To start with, it eliminates many form of surprise that can arise in any
given organization. For example, rapid talent replacement which can be mitigated with urgent
identification of any vacancy that may occur due to unavoidable circumstances. (Sullivan, 2002)
Secondly, it smoothens out business cycle as the organization will have right number of workers
who processes the right skills. Thirdly, with effective workforce, problems will be identified
