Abstract
The primary goal of this research is to examine the correlation between video games and
violent behavior. The primary objective of this research is to prove that video games do not result
in violent or aggressive behavior. As such, the research examined 6 peer review articles using the
systematic review research design. The collected information from the articles was analyzed using
the linear regression technique in excel. As such a p-value of 0.006072 signified a relationship
between the two components. From the results, the study made a conclusion that video games do
not have an impact on the individual’s behavior.

Introduction
Video games are gaining rapid recognition among today’s teenagers and pre-teenagers.
The computer and video game industry has gradually become a giant in the consumer retail sector.
Its market value exceeds that of the music and film industry. According to the report provided by
Statistica, the video game industry is generating billions of dollars every year in the United States
alone. From the 2019 survey, the Call of Duty Franchise is the best-selling video game of all time,
garnering about 26% of gamers in the industry (Gough, 2019). While video games are common
among teenagers and pre-teenagers, its demographic had expanded to involves, adults. According
to the survey conducted by AARP, the number of older adults who play video games increased
from 40.2 million in 2016 50.6 million gamers in 2019 (Terrell, 2019).
The relationship between video games and aggressive or violent behavior has long been a
topic of the issue in a psychological framework. Following the advancement of video games, many
people are concerned about hyper-realistic violence or the potential impact of the individuals’
behaviors (Kühn, Schmalen, Weichenberger, Witt, & Gallinat, 2019). As such, a number of
research studies have emerged to support the notion that video games contribute to violent
