Centralization of the IT architecture could bear standardization benefits for the
organization. Standardization refers to seamlessness in terms of processes, procedures, and
enforcement of various strategies across the four business units (BUs). Standardization ensures
minimization of duplication of processes, fewer ques, and as well provides timely response and
implementation of change in the organization (McKeen & Smith, 2017). The phenomenon
additionally provides optimization of resources and, as such, eliminating redundancy in the system.
In the long term, standardization reduces the cost of operation and consequently contributing
significantly to cost savings. Moreover, the approach reduces the quantity of manual intervention
and, as such, aiding reduce human resource-related costs.
