is mostly associated with sores on the mouth and the face of an individual, while HSV-2, is
characterized by blisters on the genitals of the patient. The mode of transmission through contact
with an infected person. Children are the most affected, as they easily contract the disease, and
are likely to carry it with them for the rest of their lives. HSV-1 is contracted through oral
contract by basic activities such as sharing utensils when eating, sharing lip products such as lip
balms and lipsticks, and kissing. HSV-2, on the other hand, is contracted through sexual contact

Description of Herpes Simplex Virus
The rate of infection of the disease is open to anyone, as long as they come into contact
with a person that has the infection. There are however, factors that make people more
vulnerable to the disease. They include people with several sexual partners, being exposed to
sexual activities at an early age, the gender of an individual, where women have the highest risk
of infection, patients of sexually transmitted illnesses, and an individual that has a compromised
immune system. Infants before their birth are usually exposed to contraction of the infection in
case their mother is infected at the time of birth. Some of the signs that indicate the presence of
the disease include the presence of sores on the mouth and genitals, experiencing pain when one
is urinating, and having an itching feeling as well.
