policies or laws to safeguard their environments. The Endangered Species Act of 1973 was
implemented to protect species from extinction as well as recovering species that were likely
to extinct (Lachenmeier, 1974). This act has been active and successful since it includes
penalties for harming, killing and wounding endangered species in the environment.
Environmental laws or policies are also known as environmental and natural resources law,
and as such, they are meant to make the environment better and safe. In general,
environmental laws are statutes, local, regulations, national as well as international legislation
that are designed to protect the environment from being damaged. Also, environmental
policies are meant to reduce and prevent harmful effects that are triggered by human beings.
Everyone has the responsibility of protecting the environment and engage in activities that
will ensure that the environment is safe.
Scientific research and public awareness of an environmental issue led to the
