Cindy Sherman remains a significant figure in the picture generation. Cindy Sherman lived
during the late 20th century. As a photographer, Cindy Sherman is recognized for several

Dorothea Lange's Migrant Mother is considered the iconic photograph of the Depression
and one of the most common photos of the 20th century. This piece portrays a woman with her
children cringing around her while hiding their faces. The woman has been portrayed gazing
anxiously into the distance. On the other hand, Cindy Sherman's Paintings #92 is an image of
Sherman herself. In the picture, Sherman is portrayed as someone in trouble. Hunkered on the
ground, she horrendously looks away from the camera (Lemke, p.85).
From the two images, it is crystal clear that they not only differ in terms the characters
portrayed but also in terms of photography elements such as but not limited to color, space, and
