Choose ONE of the topics below to research and complete this portfolio on. You will continue to use this research subject for the entire unit. Please do not switch topics or you will need to start over. 2. After you select your topic to research, you need to find 3 reliable websites to help you research and learn about your topic. (If we provided you with 1-2 suggested websites you can use them as your sources if you would like.) 3. Take notes on the topic/sub topics of your essay via your own note cards or word document. Remember to paraphrase the information into your own words unless you are copying a quote. 4. Disease - you can build on the research you did for the CDC Epidemiologist portfolio. Elaborate on the organism causing the disease and the disease process. By examining HIV/AIDS, one can see that researchers know a great deal about its transmission (claim), prevention (claim), and treatment (claim), and they are working towards discovering a cure (claim). Research into HIV/AIDS can benefit those suffering from this disease and other similar transmittable diseases (opinion). Artificial intelligence is greatly expanding fields of science (claim), improving human efficiency and productivity(claim), and has many consumer applications (claim). However, artificial intelligence still lacks several features of human reasoning (claim). Though the benefits of artificial intelligence are great, there are many potential risks or unintended consequences that need to be weighed in its use (opinion). Or, try writing your own!
