In the wake of the first wave of the spread of the 2009 H1N1 virus, there is a general
concern as to how travelers’ journeys are influenced significantly through containment as part of
the insecurity health measures. In this regard, attention raised is on the effects of controlling
airports as the significant sites of control. Additionally, travelers are ethically expected to behave
in a manner that would mitigate the transmission of the disease. The Biosecurity measures both
globally, and the UK would help highlight the role of media in controlling emerging infectious
diseases (IDs) (Warren, Bell, & Budd, 2010). How effective screening and limiting of air travel
would deal with the spread, and if it should be done to the current Coronavirus situation, and the
concerns raised for preventing travelers from Europe based on the scientific literature, and finally
considering the similarities and differences between the last global pandemic (2009, H1N1), and
the current Corona Virus pandemic.
