    Business Process Redesign
Business process redesign/re-engineering is an engineering approach to recreating core
business processes for quality improvement and cost reduction. It involves fundamental thinking
and radical redesign of specific business processes for cost, quality, service, and speed delivery.
It involves the analysis and redesign of company processes. Business process re-engineering
involves the following steps: process identification, process consulting, process re-engineering,
creating the blueprint of the new system, change management, transformation, project
management, and project kick-off (Jay and Barry, 2011). Objective and framework definition,
customer needs identification, current process study, redesign business plan formulation, and
redesign implementation is essential throughout the process with visualization of the end
process. The Toyota Company has been iconic in the achievement of business process reengineering.
    Toyota Company Business Process Re-Engineering
Since Toyota's auto-motives were termed as inefficient and cheap, Toyota's
administration wanted to change this notion by re-engineering its business processes. They sent
their representatives and employees to learn from Ford, an automotive company in the US.
However, they lacked space and resources, together with some factors that made it impossible to
implement the same processes as ford did, thus applied the Just In Time technique (Frank and
    Sholnn, 2007).
How Was This Business Process Re-Engineering Implemented?
Implementation of re-engineering processes enhances profit creation and business
restructuring. The Toyota company re-engineering process was implemented by minimizing cost
for setting up. This was important because of a decrease in the cost setup reduced the total cost
