Child development is a significant segment of cognition, which involves the
categorization of physical, linguistic, thought, and emotional transformation that occurs from
birth to adulthood. The process is highly dependent on parents and guardians as children are
highly dependent on the environment around them. Parenthood events influence the learning,
adult behavior development, and how an individual will connect with others later in life (Masarik
& Conger, 2017). The different components of child development are essential in promoting a
fully independent person who can make informed decisions and hence the need to solve any
problems that occur in this critical step of an individual’s life.
The different components of child development involve cognition as it defines an
individual’s ability to learning through the immediate environment and solve problems. As a
child grows, they get to learn better ways of social interaction while mastering emotional
regulation to make the relationships better. Speech and language understanding progresses with
age, exposure, and schooling, which helps individuals establish reading and writing skills (Lee,
