(8 marks) Question 3: You work for 3M Company, which expects to earn at least 18% on its investments. Project A has an initial investment of $415,000 and Project B has $300,000. You have to choose between two similar projects. Below is the cash information for each project: (25 marks) Project A: $150,000, $220,000, $215,000, $205,000, $197,000 & $100,000 for next 6 years. Project B: $150,000, $250,000, $250,000, $200,000, $180,000 & $120,000 for next years. Question 4: As a team member of Interhom construction company develop a Work Breakdown Structure for constructing a House. (22 marks) There are three main categories of work in building a house i.e. Foundation, exterior and interior. 1. Foundation has three tasks i.e. Excavate, Frame and Concrete. This accounts for 25% of the total work in building a house. Following is breakdown for each task in percentages out of the 25%: ▪ Excavate accounts for 12% of work at Foundation Stage which is divided into its sub-tasks as follows: digging with 8% and levelling with 4% of work. ▪ Frame accounts for 6% of work at Foundation stage. ▪ Concrete accounts for 7% of work at Foundation Stage which is divided into its sub-tasks as follows: pouring with 4% and Cure with 3% of work. 2. Exterior has five tasks i.e. Frame, Roof, Windows, Siding and Paint. This accounts for 30% of the total work in building a house. Following is breakdown for each task in percentages out of the 30%: ▪ Frame accounts for 10% of work at Exterior Stage. ▪ Roof accounts for 6% of work at Exterior stage which is divided into its sub-tasks as follows: shingles with 3% and gutters with 3% of work. ▪ Windows accounts for 5% of work at Exterior Stage. ▪ Siding accounts for 7% of work at Exterior Stage which is divided into its sub-tasks as follows: masonry with 3%, paneling with 2% and trim with 2% of work. ▪ Paint accounts for 2% of work at Exterior Stage. 3. Interior has four tasks i.e. Plumbing, Walls, Electrical and Flooring. This accounts for 45% of the total work in building a house.
