Introduction
Diabetes is the country has been one of the signi cant challenges which have
continued to affect multiple populations. New cases of diabetes continue to
witnessed and reported. Over the years, there have been recommendations on
the best ways to handle diabetes. However, limited research has been carried
out to facilitate new cases of diabetes. Newly diagnosed people have faced
diverse challenges ranging from lack of suf cient knowledge to reduced
assistance from the immediate populations. This proposal seeks to collect

information about the best practices which would help in the implementation
of an educational program which would be used in a family-based setting to
handle new diabetes cases.
Role of public health education
Education plays a crucial role in the improvement of the level of knowledge and
skills in the management of the day to day operations. In the healthcare sector,
education helps in the development of the level of care achieved by the
underlying populations within a community. New diabetes cases continue to be
reported each day in the country. However, there is a gap in knowledge and
skills which these new infections would be handled and hence managed.
Therefore, there is a need to implement a family-based educational program
which would help to reduce the effects of diabetes for the newly infected
populations in the community (Melaku-Abbera & Smith, 2017). Education
would help to improve the abilities of the affected people to gain an insight into
the main approaches which would be implemented to bridge the gap as far as
