Social competency, as the name suggests, means having the prowess in handling social
interactions effectively. In other words, social competency is defined as getting along so easily
with people as well as being able to form and manage very close relationships, and also being to
respond more adaptively within a social setting. Social interaction among people is understood to
be complicated; therefore, being social competence means being able to handle the complexity
and ensuring there exists an interpersonal relationship (Jackson, 2019). On the other side,
cultural competency in the research process involves being able to understand, communicate
with as well as offer effective interaction with people from different cultures.
Social psychologists tend to look at why people tend to do what they do, in regards to
