Critical thinking refers to the ability to think clearly and rationally on what an individual
should believe or do. Besides, critical thinking is highly linked to reflective and independent
thinking abilities. According to Bouyges (2019), critical thinking is a skill than an individual
learns through personal experiences. Through research and experience, Bouygues has simplified
ways in which people can improve their analytical thinking abilities into three main stages which
include, question assumption, reason through logic, and diversifying of thoughts. People assume
questions, expand thoughts, and reason through logic every day but not as thoroughly as it needs
to be. Accurate application of the three ways promotes the development of desired skills in the
job market.
First, question assumptions can be applied to turn around an organization. Bouyges (2019)
states that she typically begins by questioning the organization's assumptions. Questioning
everything is difficult, and it requires an individual to detect the best time to examine the
assumptions. This is because the questions approach is particularly high helpful when the stakes
are high. Bouygues advises individuals to ask fundamental questions about their beliefs,
especially when they engage in a discussion about the long-term strategies of a company. A
critical thinker should understand what research dictates regarding self-expectations about the
market in the future. Besides, questioning assumptions requires the thinker to co consider other
alternatives because it helps an individual to acquire new thinking perspectives.
Second, reasoning through logic is an important aspect that highly contributes to critical
