Review of Abolition of Slavery
First Article
Many scholars have affirmed that African American abolitionists played a bigger part in
the culture and history of the United States. The scholars also perceive that several historians
who have written scholarly articles and texts have failed to look at the relationship between the
whites and blacks within the United States since they have a deep-rooted white supremacy
concept. This paper will review three articles that look at the role of African Americans at
making the slaves free.
The first reviewed article is authored by Foner in 2017. The author has documented the
importance of explaining slavery during the periods when slavery was a common issue in both
military and civilian life. Foner (2017) has emphasized that it is vital to be informed about the
roles of African Americans during the period of slavery through documenting the roles they
played. For instance, Abraham Lincoln has been identified as a key figure that broadened the
scope of United States history. The roles of Abraham have been delved at by presenting his
connection with the Third Amendment as well as emancipation (Foner, 2017). Abraham became
a radical slavery abolitionist after being elected. His objectives and responsibilities developed
throughout his leadership based on how he responded to governing his people and war.
The development of conflict and slavery made Abraham to finally support liberation
initially as a military measure and eventually in the perspective of complete abolition. Such a
step made Abraham come up with the Third amendment act. According to Foner (2017), by the
end of Abraham’s leadership, Abraham had identified that conflicts within the United States
were mainly caused by slavery. The amendments that were considered after he died continue to
influence the perception of people towards slavery presently.

Second Article
The second reviewed article was authored by Sarah Crabtree. The author has presented
that some African Americans should be viewed as agents of transformation and key figures in
the fight of democracy in the United States (Crabtree, 2018). Crabtree has looked at two
individuals identified as Warner Mifflin and Gary Nash. New light has been shade on how Nash
underscored the vitality of Mifflin as a key person who played a major role in bridging the first
and second periods of eradicating slavery.
In one of the important sections, the author has explored Mifflin's ideas on compensation.
In addition, Nash explores different sources to help him identify the connection that existed
between Mifflin and the African Americans slaves that he set free (Crabtr...
