If you have not yet been involved with a business process redesign, research a company that has recently completed one and discuss what went wrong, what went right, and how the company could have done a better job minimizing the risk of failure.

Redesigning of business processes refers to the changes in the way a business conducts
its operations, distributions, marketing, and approaches within an organization (Zell, 2018). As
such, redesigning in business aims to reduce the costs and maximize the company’s profits.
However, this process could fail making an organization to lose revenues and increases its costs.
As such, Boeing Inc. attempt to outsourcing and offshoring is the best case that could help in
understanding the process of redesigning.
Boeing Inc. redesigned its processes by initiating a new model of doing business by
embracing outsourcing from local and international businesses. The company intended to reduce
costs and accelerate development. As such, the company forecasted that by redesigning its
process, a new approach will help the firm decrease the development of 787 by two years and by
doing so the cost will decrease by $4 billion (Denning, 2013). The results of the redesign were
catastrophic business-wise as the redesign went over budget by billions and it went behind the
schedule by three years. The company chief head in the department noted that the company
overspent in trying to recover the amount that could have spent if the company kept its previous
model intact. The organization heads made errors that made the company to lose a lot. Therefore,
this paper discusses and identifies what went right in redesigning and what went wrong in
redesigning Boeing Inc's operation processes.
