Technology and information systems in society have become pervasive and their impact
in human resource development (HRD) are pervasive. Technology is considered the driver of
organizational restructuring (Vinesh, 2014). The impact of technology today has been innovative
practices in telecommuting, work practices, cloud based systems, and virtual teams. Technology
has been instrumental in enabling companies to hire and maintain talented employees. HR
technology is aimed at attracting, hiring, retaining, and maintain HR, support administration, and
optimize human resource management (Vinesh, 2014). When adopting HR technology, it is
imperative to determine how technology can be used to transform HR practices like Employee
Productivity, Staffing Systems, and Career Development Systems. The requirements for such HR
technology should be to streamline HR process, reduce HR administration, improve service and
access to data, and provide metrics for decision making. HRIS systems will be implemented to
transform HR delivery using web-based technologies.
