European expansion is the period from the 15th to 18th century, which saw European
nations exploring into vast continents, countries, and lands and practising their authority in them.
They also settled on these new own lands and determined the countries relation with its
neighbors. The expansion, however, was necessitated by various factors that included the spread
of religion, desire for exploration, search for trade markets, and expanding boundaries of their
countries. Even though they were able to achieve this in the conquered region, it had a social,
economic, and political effect on them. This paper focuses on these effects in the conquered
regions or regions in which expansion took place (Mitchell,2016).
