Samsung is a technology company famously known for its involvement in production
electronics such as refrigerators, mobile phones, dispensers, televisions, among others. Its
electronics do well in the market, with its mobile phones being among the top-selling brands in
the world. Its success can be attributed to not only its superior phone features but also aggressive
marketing. Directional marketing is one of the strategies the company relies on to market its
products. Directional marketing entails the placement of a firm's products in front of potential
customers. It can be done through search engine marketing, creating yellow pages, and having
online sites where customers leave their reviews about the product. Samsung makes use of
search engines to makes its products visible to potential customers, thus increasing sales. A
search of the company’s products on any search engine directs customers to its websites where
they can buy their desired products.
Operation management leads to better production of quality products and their
distribution to customers. It entails the control of activities involved in the fabrication of
products. Some of the operations management at Samsung include scheduling, controlling,
planning, and continuous improvement of inputs. The company is also actively involved in new
product management, thus, attracting new customers. Also, the company has a human resource
unit that is involved in the management of staff. It not only hires and fires staff but also trains the
company staff on the various doings that enable the company to meet its objectives.
