Techniques for creating a robust team for improved teamwork
Team building is a complex but critical process for enhanced performance and growth of both
the team players and the organization. Therefore, managers must focus on creating robust teams
to improve teamwork that is necessary for increased productivity. Developing a strong requires
the manager to devise strategies that the employees or team players will adopt for the realization
of desired outcomes (Engelland, 2018). Below are some of the strategies that Jarir Bookstore
manager may apply to create a strong that will permit a high level of teamwork.
Setting-up clear goals
One of the critical aspects of a team is the development of the purpose, goals, and objectives of
the team. Therefore, the manager must create achievable short-term and long-term goals.
Employees will be motivated to work together when they can achieve the set goals. Setting clear
goals allows the team players to focus on the goals hence avoiding laxity or over-dependence.
Effective communication
Effective communication is one of the most critical elements of a successful and strong
team. Every employee or team member must understand what to communicate, when to
communicate and how to communicate (Engelland, 2018). As such, the manager must develop
an effective communication strategy that is clear to all players.
Encouraging and motivating team members
For the development of a robust team, the manager or team leader must encourage and
motivate the members. Oftentimes, managers understand the best practices for motivating and
encouraging managers but they do not practice what they communicate. As such, Jarir Bookshop
manager must develop strategies for encouraging and motivating the employees including
rewarding the employees and creating a conducive work environment.

Usually, employees and team members will develop a feeling of being part of the organization
when the managers or team leaders appreciate and welcome other people's opinions or views
(Engelland, 2018). As such, the manager should allow the employees or team members to air
their views concerning some aspects of the organization. Inclusivity enhances confidence and
trust among the team players.
Respecting and valuing team members
Respect is a very important attribute in team-building. Each member of the team, including the
manager, must demonstrate respect and value for others. Allowing the members to demonstrate
