Job Satisfaction
Introduction
Employee’s welfare and emotional wellbeing is essential in a work environment because
it has an impact on their productivity. In HR, management institutions should ensure a sound and
active welfare strategy is in place. Previous research findings have collected a significant
quantity of individual elements as defined by respondents in empirical inquiry. Factors that have
been identified can be categorized into the following categories; career development, work
environment, and employee relationships with management. Besides, compensation, engagement
opinions, engagement behaviors, and benefits complete the core categories (Society for Human
Resource Management, 2016).
Generally, most of the research findings on job satisfaction have concluded employee
status to job satisfaction has an impact on their performance. Employee performance directly or
indirectly contributes to the overall performance of the institution. One of the significant
conclusions and recommendations is an institution to invest in the welfare of employees.
However, the matter can be argued for and against equal passion. Employment is a
conceptual agreement with defined terms on responsibilities and accountability about the terms
and conditions of the contract. Should the matter be evaluated as more aligned to HR
responsibility or employee mandate to deliver? Is the job satisfaction a significant and
fundamental concern for management to focus on, or it’s a mutual responsibility.
