The work description of the chief executive office is extremely complex since they
determine the overall success of the company in terms of profitability and growth. In the case of
Apple, for instance, Tim Cook faces a more difficult task since he has to match the performance
of his predecessor, Steve Jobs. The main challenge, in this case, is to match the performance of
the company concerning a high performing previous leader. One of the more challenging tasks is
building or maintaining the organizational culture, which plays a vital part in the determination
of its performance. For example, Tim Cook may have a difficult challenge in modifying the
current innovative culture for the company, which was developed by Steve Jobs. Thirdly, a chief
executive officer is responsible for the process of maintaining and increasing the value of the
