According to Knilans (2016), a professional is an individual expected to perform
a task with competence or have the requirements and experience of the standards in the
specialized field of work; the abilities enable them to stand out from others in leadership
skills, personality, and performance. Professionals also have significant
accomplishments that distinguish them from other employees. Professionalism and
supervision relate in terms of the quality of work undertaken for a client. Professional
controls ensure that employees perform their tasks effectively. Professionalism in
workplaces allows employees to work under a harmonious environment that enhances
easy monitoring of duty and also improves leadership skills. A manager with excellent
supervision skills is likely will always ensure that professionalism when conducting a
project or within the working environment, thus motivating employees to perform better.
Organizations hire professionals to assist in running the activities of the organization,
especially when undertaking a project that requires high supervisory skills.
Professionalism enables managers to lead the organization effectively; a real
professional manager posse should have excellent leadership skills that allow them to
guide and supervise their subordinates with less resistance.

Additionally, the skills of a professional manager are good communication skills,
should be academically qualified, and creative; these skills enable managers to perform
various tasks and lead their teams effectively to increase performance. Professional managers
advance their skills through frequently updating their experienced skills and academics to
meet the qualifications of their profession, thus ensuring high standards of professionalism in



the organization. Professionalism in the organization is essential since it helps managers retain
high ethical conduct when attending to clients, thus improving the performance and create a
friendly working environment. An individual can be true with clear goals, passion, inner
drive, and focus can be identified as a true professional, thus being an effective supervisor
(Knilans, 2016).



Why is implementing change difficult?

The purpose of change in an organization is to improve performance and effectiveness
in its operation. The five reasons that make the implementation of change difficult are, in poor
planning, managers who do not follow the steps of planning are likely to face resistance when
implementing changes in the organization. If a manager fails to communicate to employees
about new changes during planning results to resistance when implementing the changes,
hence it can have negative impacts on the organizational performance. Professional managers
use a well-developed plan that enables the smooth implementation of change, thus minimizing
supervision. Secondly, employee morale, unmotivated employees have low morale within the
working environment, so they develop a change in behavior that results in resistance in
change when implementing. Professional managers various methods to motivate their
employees, thus establishing a good relationship with the subordinates, and it reduces
resistance to change. The management uses motivation to neutralize the opposition to change
and reduce the cost of hiring a professional to supervise.
