Talent Management and Human Resource Development Analysis Paper

Question Description

I’m working on a Management exercise and need support.

After exploring the role of Human Resource Management and its various requirements, it's now time to demonstrate that you can apply these concepts in your own chosen industry or career path! Late work will lose 10% each day. You may consider researching how other organizations have managed these core HRM policies, practices and procedures. Specifically, consider what you have learned over this first few chapters and write an essay that explores in detail:

  • typical approaches to recruiting applicants for common jobs in your industry or career path
  • common selection processes in your industry or career path, including interview methods, selection tests, etc.
  • descriptions of new-hire training, onboarding, and ongoing development processes in your industry or career path
  • effective methods for performance appraisal, coaching, and feedback to employees for jobs in your industry or career path

This assignment should include at least 6 pages of double-spaced content in 12-point Times New Roman font, summarizing your key learnings in class and how they are relevant in your industry or career path. Written assignments require application of content from the textbook and any other learning materials provided in the course, as well as your own independent research (especially around industry-specific aspects of the assignment).

Your paper should be formatted and written in the style dictated by the American Psychological Association (APA) 6.0 Style guidelines. Please see the Lynn Library APA Style guide (Links to an external site.) for assistance here, including the pre-formatted template in Microsoft Word (Links to an external site.). You do not need to use an Abstract or a Table of Contents, but you will need a Title Page and a References Page in the correct formats. You are strongly encouraged to work with the Writing Lab (Links to an external site.) to get assistance with your academic writing; take advantage of this free service, as part of your university education!

You must use APA-formatted in-text citations and References to indicate the source of any ideas you apply from other authors. You are encouraged to summarize and paraphrase whenever possible rather than directly quoting, as your instructor is much more interested in what you now know and understand than in what you can quote from your research. (However, citations and References are still required, even if you're not directly quoting.)

All written assignments in this course follow the 300 Level Grading Rubric for Written Communications, which is listed below. Your grade will be determined by the ratings you earn on each line of the rubric, so please pay close attention to the descriptions of each item.

Talent Management and Human Resource Development in Nursing
The survival and growth of any organization are highly determined by its employees. To
that effect, human resource management, encompassing of polices, practices and programs which
are designed to maximize both the personnel and the organizational goals is an integral part of the
administration, which mainly focuses on these employees—the objectives of HRM range from
societal, organizational, functional and personnel (Snell et al., 2015). The HRM works to create a
conducive environment for all the stakeholders of the company through the creation of an effective
organizational culture; for instance, teamwork and communication, which in turn increases the
productivity and the performance of the human resource. This further helps in the creation and the
maintenance of a competitive edge for the organization. However, unlike in other businesses
whereby a miscalculation by the HRM leads to the failure of the company, the health care
repercussions of shortcomings within this department are far much vital, going beyond threatening
the survival of the health care facility to jeopardizing the lives of the patients. Consequently, based
on the importance of HRM in the health care system and nursing precisely, the tenacity of this
paper is to extensively discuss on the application of different HRM policies and procedures, among
them being the recruiting, selection, training and performance appraisal in the field.
The effectiveness of the health care systems is mostly dependent on the nurses with their
shortages posing as one of the most significant challenges in the sector. As a result, the health care
providers need to ensure that the provision of competent and specialized nurses, who have the
required skills, knowledge and attitude in the performance of their duties, as expected of them is
acquired. Based on different health care based researches and statistics conducted in the US, the
continuous increase in the older population causing ageing baby boom population and the
continuous increase in life expectancy has necessitated for more health care professionals creating

wide talent gaps throughout the country, and it is projected to grow higher over time as the health
care sector continues to grow. Furthermore, bottlenecks in nursing education, which have
continued to constrain the talent in conjunction with the retirement of nurses have continued to
contribute to the shortage of nurses. The reduction of nurses has further complicated the
recruitment and retention process of nurses due to the increase in competition. Therefore, to
outstand in this competition, different health care facilities have developed strategies in their
recruiting and retaining process a sit shall be explained below.
The recruitment process has different variables which impact on the success rate of the
process, those of these factors include the resources available, the location, work climate and
culture, the management of the organization and the general attractiveness (Abdollahi et al., 2018).
