Course Project Proposal
The Course Project for this class is focused on widely known social movements that have had an impact on American culture. Please read through the Course Project instructions found in the Assignments area of the classroom before completing this week’s Course Project Proposal.
By the end of Week 1 you will submit your Course Project Proposal. In a minimum of one double-spaced page, please respond to the following prompts.
- Identify the social movement you have chosen.
- Identify the underlying social problem addressed by this social movement.
- Explain why you have chosen this social movement.
- Describe what you already know about this social movement.
- Describe what you hope to learn through your research.
- Include a separate reference page (the last page of your submission) that lists at least three scholarly sources about your chosen social movement. Please attempt to use the Grantham library to locate your sources.

For this Week 2 assignment you will conduct research on the legalization of marijuana for recreational use debate. In a minimum of two double spaced pages, address the following:
1.Explain and critique two compelling arguments for the legalization of marijuana for recreational use.

Marijuana, which originates from the Indian hemp plant, is one of the most illegal
medications on the planet. Marijuana comprises of the squashed and dried weed that blended
blossoms, stems, leaves, and seeds of the hemp plant. In the seventeenth century, the U.S.
government energized the production of hemp for apparel, rope, and sails. In addition, in the
nineteenth century, Maryjane was known for a well-known fixing in the clinical field and was
offered exoterically in the open dispensary. Notwithstanding, since Maryjane was prohibited in
1937, as of late, the most amazing discussion in the United States is the authorization of cannabis
called weed in light of the fact that few states, for example, Washington and Colorado sanctioned
Marijuana use in entertainment and medication. As indicated by the article "The States and
Localities Governing," "Twenty-six states and the District of Columbia at present have laws
