The least squares method is one of the long-used mathematical and statistical practices. It that has
helped mathematicians and even scientists to calculate and come up with the line of best fit for any
set of given discrete data it works on the analogy of reducing the total residuals that may seem far
from the plotted points. Any given point will always tell the correlation of the known factors,
Granger, & (Hatanaka, M. 2015). To be able to use the least-squares method to approximate the
time series, it is essential to observe some factors. Assuming that the time decomposition series of
an atom is to be calculated from the year 2000 to 2020. The first case is to make a matrix X (y0, y,
