Description
You are to write a proposal and abstract for a modern (1905-present) physics experiment of your choice.
Proposal must include:
- Title of the Experiment
- Description of the experiment
- Why the experiment is important.
- How it will affect the physics field (if it will) if not then give your opinions on how it could impact the field.
- Justification for funding.

Abstract
The oil-drop experiment by Millikan in 1909 is among the decisive experiments in physics
history. Millikan could determine the an electron charge. A spray formed the oil-drops where
some fell via the small gap into the uniform electrical field. A microscope could allow the
observation of a given oil-drop. The oil got charged with the x-rays, and through regulating the
electrical field, it could remain in repose. Millikan’s experiment could measure the electrical
force on a minute oil-drop charged by the electrical field. Millikan repeated several experimental
procedures to obtain results explained with the elementary, single charge. As a great
significance, Millikan could see things to decide accurately and make actual conclusions about
the measurements of the electron charge. Millikan made several critical discoveries, primarily in
the fields of optics and molecular physics. Millikan identified an electron char...
