Networking within and across teams is the ability to reach out to and connect with
workmates a company. Networking within and across teams involves building long-term ties
through meeting people and building a good reputation over some time (Argote & Fahrenkopf,
2016). Networking enables individuals to interact beyond their usual level of job responsibility.
Networking within and across teams has several benefits both to the employees and the
organization.
In their study on the values of networking within and across teams, Argote and
Fahrenkopf (2016) noted that networking enables individuals to acquire new ideas through
sharing of information on challenges, objectives, and experiences. The new ideas that are
