Facial recognition alludes to a type of system that can be utilized for a myriad of
purposes. It works by capturing individual images of a face from a distance or along a
population. The system can store the image while identifying an individual for future reference.
The system has been earmarked as one of the most controversial, unlike others, such as
biometrics. This is because it does not adhere to personal consent or require individual attention
(Mann & Smith, 2017). Various governmental departments have been utilizing the technology in
the identification of criminals while business uses the technology to keep vital information
secure as it allows fewer individuals to access such sensitive details.
Even though there have been instances where facial recognition tools have misidentified
particular individuals while struggling to identify some types of cases, both men and women
consider the tools as relatively effective. About seventy-six percent of both men and women who
are adults have responded that facial recognition technologies are effective, especially in
