THE ‘ TITLE LOTTERY’
The ‘Title Lottery’ has been a misleading title about the expectations that it purposed to fulfill.
The story behind the lottery involved winning and chance. The title, lottery, was therefore ironical,
in the story of Jackson because the winner in the draws never received a reward. Instead, the winner
was thereafter stoned to death. The winner, therefore, lost the biggest and the most undesirable of
all. There is, therefore, no actual purpose that the title serves because of the last occurrence
(Robinson, 2019). Shirley Jackson’s story regarding the tittle saw is an ironic and realistic tittle.
