Instructions:

- Global geographies of environmental change
- International migration
Step 2: Select 1 article that provides a conceptual basis for exploring your topic. The article must be published from 2014 onward, and come from one of the following peer-reviewed journals:
- Progress in Human Geography
- The Geographical Review
- Geoforum
Step 3: Write a 750-1000 word explanation of how the article you selected provides a conceptual basis for your selected topic. For example, imagine you were writing a research paper on this topic; why did you choose this article? How does it help you understand the issue?
It is recommended to use the following questions as a framework for your paper:
- What is the article about? Provide a brief summary of the article and how it relates to your chosen topic.
- How does this article inform your understanding of the ‘big picture’ around your topic? In other words,does this article help situate the article in historic and global context?

Neil Conner, the author, in this article, attempts to evaluate the link existing between
religion and migration. He believes that religion plays a key role in determining social
integration and the element of people migrating from one place to another. Fundamentally, he
claims that the interrelation is sometimes leaning to a beneficial side by supporting the process of
integration. On the same note, he also thinks that the opposite is also true with religious
practices, beliefs, and identities deterring people from migrating from one nation to another, thus
inhibiting social integration.
