Description

Here is the original instructions for the paper.

The assignment that you will be editing is attached. I need it to changed from an outline to essay form.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Disciplinary Fieldwork Paper: The Paper is your chance to write about your disciplinary perspective as a lens on the complex problem. That’s two foci, the disciplinary perspective itself and how the disciplinary perspective profiles or explains the complex problem.

It might be useful to think of the paper as four sections or moments: Introduction, Assumptions or Epistemology, Concepts or Theories, Methods. Feel free to include Phenomenon or Data but it is not expected.

Criteria: 4 full pages min./ 5 pages max.

The better papers will clearly articulate how all three elements are exemplified in the discipline’s approach to the complex problem. Terms will be appropriately defined throughout, including specific disciplinary concepts or theories that the discipline uses in explaining the problem. All citations will be APA style in text and in references. There will be accurate literacy in syntax, semantics, grammar, spelling. Make sure you APA cite Repko et al. and at least two disciplinary articles or books.

In this connection, it is imperative to highlight that the challenge causes economic and social problems that affect not only the country but also the surrounding community. The youth are also individually affected as they are the ones that experience a lack of stable jobs. According to Plan International (2016), more than six hundred and twenty-one million persons between fifteen and twenty-four years neither have jobs, nor are they engaged in learning activities. Seventy-five million youths worldwide have received the prerequisite education but do not yet have a job (Plan International, 2016). It is, however, absurd that the highest percentile of unemployed youths hail from the developing nations. Another revelation is that youths are twice as likely to remain jobless as compared to adults. Furthermore, Plan International (2016) maintains that about twenty-three percent of the youth live on less than two dollars in a day. The insight provided creates a need for creating a paradigm shift and forming solutions to reduce the rate of joblessness among the youth. Outline OUTLINE I. A preliminary statement of the problem or issue Lack of job opportunities has a grave impact on the youth across the globe as it affects the economic condition of the affected persons, their social well-being, and also influences the communities in which the youth reside. II. A brief overview of previous research A. Overview of prior research from the FIRST discipline: Economic An economic perspective of unemployment among the youth reveals that it leads to poverty among the mentioned group. An extensive period in which the youth remain unemployed renders them unable to possess any form of income, hence thwarting them form making financial progress. Conversely, there is a reduction in the gross domestic product due to the lack of disposable income to aid in the flow of money. 1. First concept or theory of previous research within the first discipline: Economists have established a concept that unemployment goes hand in hand with low earnings and the potential for lack of housing. It is because the youth do not have the means of getting finances (Dietrich & Moller, 2015). The youth are likely to forfeit their mortgages or even choose to live with their parents. The unlucky persons will be rendered homeless, where they will have to depend on handouts from the government or well-wishers. 2. Second concept or theory of previous research within the first discipline: Economics assesses the concept that youth unemployment leads to the obliteration of human capital. It results in reduced productivity in the industrial sector. Furthermore, loss of human capital means the individual will not be conversant with the contemporary ways of doing a job. Mofuluwawo (2015) submits that this results in a youthful group that is not employable. Inherently, there is a reduction in the gross domestic product in the region as the youth do not have enough to use as they deem fit. This results in a state of economic stagnation and some cases, retrogression. B. Overview of previous research from SECOND discipline: Sociology From a sociological point of view, unemployment results in the rise of social evils such as drug and substance abuse and an increase in the level of crime. Vans et al. (2016) argue that increased levels of criminal activities such as thuggery stem from the financial struggles the youth face in their endeavor to make ends meet. Inherently, Mofuluwawo (2015) admits that another significant consequence is the manifestation of picketing and riots. This often happens as a youthful response to a regime that fails to offer them jobs. 1. First concept or theory of previous research within the second discipline: Sociologists determined there is a relationship between the lack of job opportunities and increased social evils in the community. Joblessness creates an environment in which the youth do not have the means of making an income. Furthermore, Dietrich and Moller (2015) affirm that pressure from their households often make them engage in different forms of crime to justify their wealth. Other social evils in the society include addiction and abusing drugs as a way of coping with the stress associated with unemployment. 2. Second concept or theory of previous research within the second discipline: Researchers relate political instability and riots to a lack of employment among the youth. Vans et al. (2016) support this argument by affirming the youth have been to revolt against administrations that are not keen to offer them jobs. Political instability occurs when pro-government activists and anti-government crusaders conflict. In most cases, those supporting the governments across the world have jobs, while those in acting in contravention of the government's ideals do not have an income due to lack of employment. III. Sharper statement of the problem and preliminary statement of common ground A. Sharper statement of the problem: The lack of job opportunities creates economic and social vices among the youth such as the rise of social evils, absence of a trained workforce, reduction in the gross domestic product and political instability in a nation; which in turn validates the need to formulate strategies of dealing with the menace. B. A preliminary statement of common ground: An economic and social perspective into the relevance of global unemployment among the youth brings to focus the seriousness of the common conundrum. The economic concept highlights the relationship between unemployment and economic stagnation within a country. The social concept demonstrates a direct association between unemployment, political instability, and the rise of social evils. Formulating global-based solutions of dealing with the menace facing the youth suffices. Reflection on the Process: The challenge associated with lack of employment among the youth is a growing source of concern in modern society. Further still, this situation affected my life directly as most of my friends failed to secure jobs despite having a bachelor's degree. Other affected youths included those who were sidelined and ended abusing drugs such as alcohol and cannabis to forget their problem. The realization of the growing challenge was the source of my inspiration to address the issue associated with the global impact of joblessness among the youth. References Dietrich, H., & Möller, J. Global Unemployment and its Impact on the Youth
Lack of employment opportunities is a challenge that faces youth across the globe. In this
connection, it is imperative to highlight that the challenge causes economic and social problems
that affect not only the country but also the youths in the country. The youth are individually
affected as they are the ones that experience a lack of stable jobs. According to Plan International
2016 research, more than six hundred and twenty-one million persons between fifteen and
twenty-four years neither have jobs nor are they engaged in learning activities. Seventy-five
million youths worldwide have received the prerequisite education but do not yet have a job
(Plan International, 2016). It is, however, absurd that the highest percentile of unemployed
youths hail from the developing nations. Another revelation is that youths are twice as likely to
remain jobless as compared to adults. Furthermore, Plan International (2016) maintains that
about twenty-three percent of the youth live on less than two dollars in a day. The insight
provided creates a need for creating a paradigm shift and forming solutions to reduce the rate of
joblessness among the youth. Lack of job opportunities has a grave impact on the youth across
the globe as it affects the economic condition of the affected persons, their social well-being, and
also influences the communities in which the youth reside. The paper will discuss unemployment
among youths from both economic and sociological views and how the unemployment affects
individuals, especially the youths and the well-being of the society in general.
