History of CASW Code of Ethics
CASW was established in the year 1926 to monitor employment conditions as well as
develop codes and standards of practice in the entire profession. Notably, the Code of ethics
outlined in the CASW has a relatively long tradition of monitoring or instead guiding the
Canadian social work profession (The Code is Ethics and Ethics is the Code, 2018). In the year
1932, the CASW recognized ethics as a study case. Thereafter, they held several discussions in
