VALUE OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAM
My majoring in criminal justice was motivated by the urge of wanting to advance my
career in law enforcement, having in mind that I have been working in the security field. With
the emergence of new tactics and technologies of handling matters related to security, I was
confident that the criminal justice major would be an eye-opener. There is a need for knowing
ways of deterring crime, rehabilitating criminals, and piecing together clues to solve crime in the
most rational way. In the process, I will be in a position to serve the public and enhance safety.
When I look at the course’s objectives, they fit the program I completed. In this sense,
they have addressed the critical areas in criminal justice that prepare an individual to work in
vast fields of law enforcement. For instance, when I look at the objective, “understanding the
theoretical aspect of crime and integrating that with public polices,” this is an area that law
enforcers should be cautioned. Another aim is “the analysis of strategies for promoting social
advancement,” which I believe is a crucial element in all facets of criminal justice. A
consideration of these factors influences the promotion of law and order.
Altogether, criminal justice is an essential field of study, for it enlightens professionals on
how to deliver justice in an accountable, efficient, and fair approach. For instance, under criminal
