Leadership id the ability of an individual to create a vision and lead the team towards
attaining the vision. Leadership is more of an art rather than a science since it involves certain
levels of responsibilities that collogues tend to follow in achieving the goals or company needs.
According to Hargreaves & Fink, (2012), leaders in all environments must be able to perform
certain obligations and are also prepared to inspire, communicate, and give a sense of direction
to their teams. Being in managerial positions does not mean an individual is a leader; there is a
substantial difference amidst leadership and management. However, in most circumstances,
leadership and management are functions of one and the other. Leadership is about creating
environments where people comprehend the vision and believe in it, and in unity, through
direction, they work on attaining the vision. The main distinguishing factor between leadership
and management is that leaders have people to trail and emulate them, whereas managers have
people to delegate duties or work for them.
