Albert Einstein, in 1905, suggested that light can be defined as a quantum of energy that
takes the behavior of particles referred to as photons (283). A photon is a particle that is formed
due to electromagnetic radiation with no mass but bears a discrete quantity of energy (284).
Photons of light are formed into quanta according to the equation E = hv. It is for several years
that light has been characterized by the use of wave ideologies only, and experts in classical
physics find the wave-particle relationship as a problematic idea to apply. The photoelectric effect,
therefore, is the experiment carried out and explained by Einstein by the use of light particles.
