Introduction

When undertaking a research study, it’s essential to ensure that the selection of the
variables to use, the validity and reliability of the study, and the multivariant models used to
assess the data are considered. The article “Maladaptive Perfectionism as a Mediator and
Moderator Between Adult Attachment and Depressive Mood” by Wei, Mallinckrodt, Russell, and
Abraham (2004) examined maladaptive perfectionism as both a mediator and a moderator
between adult attachment and depressive mood. To assess for maladaptive perfectionism, that
