Introduction

According to Katrin Bennhold and Melissa Eddy, the far-right groups have gained
popularity in Germany, which has taken a toll on the political and social status of the country.
Cases of harassment, intimidation, and killings have become prevalent, especially among the
local officials. The primary cause of this ethnic violence in the state of German is the increased
number of immigrants entering the nation. Hence, outside influences should intervene in the
situation due to the importance of domestic ethnic conflicts in global communities.
A summary of the article
Germany continues to face ethnic conflict within the country, which is mainly caused by
politics. Conflicts such as harassment, intimidation, and killings have affected the political and
social status of the country. According to the Federal police statistics, about 1240 of the attacks
in the previous year were politically motivated. The acrimony in Germany has filled town halls
and streets with mayors being the main target of threat due to the decentralized nature of the
government. All the chaos that local officials face is aimed at targeting the ethnic minorities in
Germany who comprise of immigrants. For example, Ms. Henriette Reker was attacked during
her campaign for the mayor's seat due to her pro-refugee stance. Nonetheless, she has refused to
change her message and recently enabled the motion of 100 refugees into the country despite
