Requirement: This research paper needs to be four full pages (MLA format) and should focus on the novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly. It requires to have elevated vocabulary which is adequate for the literature writing class. The research paper needs to be based on a research question which you are free to choose. Even so, the professor gave us a hint and it was represented by "forbidden knowledge in Frankenstein novel". If you are familiar with this aspect, you could write the research paper based on it. You are free to use external sources to support your affirmation but it is important to make sure that they are reliable. Overall the paper should include a research question which should raise the interest of the reader. It is important to always refer to the Frankenstein Novel as it represents the centerpiece of the essay. The professor is not interested in reading a summary of the book (this is a RESEARCH paper, NOT a summary). Critical thinking will be essential to make sure that you understand the concepts presented in the book.

Just go into that database and do a search. You will have to create a login id to access this database. There are plenty of other biographies and other books there related to Mary Shelley. Also look in the HathiTrust database in the SVA library: Mary Shelley's letters and notebooks are available there. find at least 4 or 5 sources related to your topic/research question. ...

Possessing knowledge is not only good but also desirous. Scientists, governments, and even nongovernment organizations spend a lot of time and resources pursuing knowledge. Students alike
spend a lot of resources and time in pursuit of knowledge. The world in which humans live is
dictated largely by the knowledge that humans have. Through the acquisition of knowledge,
humans have successfully fought and conquered diseases and made their lands productive.
However, the possession of knowledge is only useful to humans to the extent that it is productive
to humans. There are points beyond which the possession of knowledge becomes toxic and
destructive. In these instances, knowledge ventures into the forbidden territory. As scientific
knowledge advances, individuals tend to stretch their imagination and creativity so that they
create things that are outrageous and potentially harmful. Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein is a piece
of work that gives an account of the damaging effects of the 'forbidden knowledge.' In this work,
Mary Shelly gives an account of two men, Victor Frankenstein and Robert Walton, who decide
to take their scientific experimentation to another level. Some of their scientific experimentation
may be considered to bordering on the realm of unethical experimentation. Victor Frankenstein
uses his scientific knowledge to create a monster that ends up destroying harm. Similarly,
Walton is determined to prove his genius in defiance to advice from his sister that what he
wanted to get involved with was evil. The book records that "Like Frankenstein, Walton is

obsessed with proving his own genius, acting against the wishes of his beloved sister, who has
“evil forebodings” about his endeavor” (Shelly 11). This paper pursues forbidden knowledge, as
presented in Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. However, there is evidence that forbidden knowledge
may also be used to improve human life. While forbidden knowledge has advanced in the recent
partly as a result of the developments in science and technology, it is notable that such
knowledge is developed out of selfish ambitions and is effects are always felt in the whole
Victor Frankenstein is of tender age when he meets Cornelius Agrippa’s book on occult sciences.
That was the turning point in his life. He developed an interest in scientific studies and
experimentation. While his father indicated to him that some of the issues propagated by Agrippa
were denounced by society due to the moral issues involved in them, he found it necessary to
ignore them. Even at the beginning of his experimentation, Frankenstein was acutely aware that
his work was likely to have adverse effects on him in the near future. Even then, he had gone too
far in his love for science to come back. Shelly accounts that “It is even possible that the train of
my ideas would never have received the fatal impulse that led to my ruin” (Shelly 37). In this
text, there is a suggestion that forbidden knowledge may be dangerous, but the people in pursuit
of it rarely recognize the inherent dangers. The individuals are always too swallowed in their
ambitions to see the glaring ramifications. In the same way, Frankenstein was informed about the
potential ramifications of his scientific adven...
