Cognitive-behavioural therapy refers to a type of talk therapy or psycho-social
intervention that is aimed at improving the mental health of an individual. Also known as CBT,
the intervention challenges and changes distortions such as attitudes, behaviours, beliefs, and
thoughts. These distortions are brought about by psycho-social factors such as depression and
anxiety. CBT uses various psychotherapies that are focused on treating demarcated
