Part 1: Lesson Plan
The lesson will focus on the use of imagery as a strategy for memorizing new
information. Imagery allows learners to superimpose images of stimuli to facilitate remembering
of images based on the relationship between them.
The objective of the lesson is to enable learners memorize how objects feel or appear so
that they can identify the differences between them. By teaching the concept of imagery, I would
meet the Georgia state standard SKP1 ELEMENT b, which requires that the science concept
should enable pupils to use their senses to classify common material, such as button or swatches
of cloth, according to their physical attributes (size, shape, color, buoyancy, flexibility, texture,
and weight). The imagery concept is relevant to this standard as it concentrates on the use of
senses to memorize and recall objects as a way of learning to differentiate between them.
A number of materials are required for this comprehensive imagery class. Among the key
materials include pieces of wood, various types of soil, papers, coloring materials, pencils, and
small boxes of various shapes. The materials will not only assist in improving memory in
