Mount St. Helens is the Volcano under analysis. The indigenous people of Cowlitz refer
to it as Lawetlat' la while those of Louwala-Clough or Loowit to the Klickitat people. Captain
George Vancouver from the British royal navy who was an explorer and a seafarer gave the
Volcano its modern name; Mount St. Helens. The name was in the honor of Alleyne Fitzherbert,
